Inspired by the shooting style and photographs of photographer Herbie Yamaguchi, this is the second Photographer’s Bag created in collaboration with him, based on his request:
“A bag should not only protect the camera well, but should also feel natural to carry, like a camera itself. What matters is realizing the coexistence of function and style.”

The structure combines two short flaps to protect the opening without gaps, while keeping the flap area intentionally short in consideration of photographers’ use. The design also allows the camera to be placed securely on top of the bag while carrying.
The original fastening system eliminates elements that could damage the camera, and opens and closes quietly, almost like fastening a button. Special details unique to this bag include the lining printed with Herbie Yamaguchi’s contact sheets, and messages engraved into the leather parts used for opening and closing the bag.

Photographer’s Bag F “CONTACT” edition features a specially produced lining using limited printed fabric. Total production across all models is planned to be approximately 300–350 pieces, with the final quantity to be determined upon completion of the last production lot.

〈Special black brass〉
Black brass refers to brass fittings painted matte black. It is mainly used as a metal coating for military use because of its inconspicuous color texture.
As it ages, the underlying brass fittings become visible, just like a black painted camera, so we produced a limited number of these as a tribute to vintage Leica cameras.

〈About the Leather〉
Two types of leather are used for this bag.
The main body and outer side of the shoulder strap are made from soft steerhide leather selected for its suppleness and comfort against the body. The underside of the strap uses vegetable-tanned steerhide leather with firmness and resilience.
By combining these two materials, the bag achieves a structure that feels soft overall while maintaining stability and strength. Both leathers are authentic 100% aniline-dyed leathers, finished while preserving the natural grain and texture of the hide.

〈About the Printed Lining〉
“CONTACT” features six contact sheets photographed by Herbie Yamaguchi in London between the 1970s and 1990s, reproduced as an art print lining.
The original photographs are faithfully printed using Viscotecs®︎ technology by Seiren Co., Ltd., capable of reproducing delicate fabric prints in 16.77 million colors.
Both the lining and printing process are made in Japan.

〈Please Read Before Purchase〉
“Steerhide leather” refers to leather made from mature cattle. Throughout their lives, the animals naturally leave various marks and traces on the hide. Veins, scratches, healed wounds, insect bites, scars, uneven texture, and variations in color are all part of the material’s character. (Please refer to the example photographs.)
For our Photographer’s Bags, unsuitable sections are avoided during the cutting process, while these natural marks are intentionally preserved as part of the leather’s authentic texture and proof of life. The same characteristics apply to the steerhide leather used on the underside of the shoulder strap.
We kindly ask for your understanding of these natural material characteristics before purchase.
